51AV A&M University and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives invite you to attend the Conservation Reserve Program Workshop.
What is the Conservation Reserve Program?
The Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) is one of the largest private-lands conservation programs in the nation. The primary goal of the program is to “re-establish valuable land cover to improve water quality, prevent soil erosion and reduce the loss of wildlife habitat.”
Farmers that participate “agree to remove environmentally-sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that improve environmental health and quality.” In exchange, they receive a yearly rental payment for a period of 10 to 15 years.
The CRP Workshop will teach you how to apply for the CRP and overcome potential mistakes and barriers. The first 40 participants will receive a $25 incentive for attending.
